1) Why are you researching at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar?
I think the Department of Arts and Research at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar is the right place for my postdoctoral project because it develops autoethnography as a method for artistic research. I have experienced the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar as a creative space of possibility where the artistic is as important as the scientific, the practical as important as the theoretical, and the process as important as the product. In the context of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar's long-term commitment to artistic research, my project explores the outcomes of introducing the creative practice of autoethnographic writing to art students.
2) What is special about your project? Why is it relevant?
"Storying artistic research using methods of autoethnography" is a post-doctoral project that contributes to current debates on the significance of autoethnography for artistic research by looking at the particular situation in Germany, where autoethnography is not as widespread as in English-speaking countries. While there are few studies in German academia that have used autoethnographic research methods, there is now a growing interest in the method, which makes my project particularly relevant.
